Entrepreneurship redefined: Innovation, adaptability, and problem-solving for future educators.
The Next Generation Education Initiative (NextGEI) is a collaboration between Rowan University’s College of Education (CED) and the Rowan Center for Innovation and Entrepreneurship (RCIE). This cross-disciplinary initiative fosters innovative and entrepreneurial mindsets, empowering future educators to see entrepreneurship not just as business creation but as a way of thinking — one of innovation, adaptability, and problem-solving that can be integrated into classrooms and education systems.
Purpose and Focus
NextGEI is grounded in the belief that education thrives at the intersection of disciplines. Encouraging collaboration and an entrepreneurial mindset, the initiative prepares educators and students to navigate and lead in dynamic environments. It prioritizes interdisciplinary innovation by creating opportunities for collaboration across diverse fields to solve complex educational challenges. By promoting creativity, problem-solving, and adaptability in education, NextGEI integrates cutting-edge tools to enhance teaching and learning experiences while encouraging practical, real-world applications that bridge theory and practice.
Through various customized workshops and programming offered by the CED and RCIE, education students gain insights into the world of entrepreneurship and develop the skills to apply an entrepreneurial mindset in their future classrooms. This initiative helps break down barriers around what entrepreneurship means and demonstrates how it can empower teachers and educators to bring dynamic, forward-thinking approaches to their careers.
